Bierbrauer takes top honours

Bjorn Bierbrauer took top honours at the fifth leg of the Bank Windhoek Enduro Championships in Aranos on Saturday.
In the Class 2 Open Bikes category, Bierbrauer beat Ingo Waldschmidt into second place while Heiko Hennes came third.

During the race, the fifth in the 2010 series, the riders had to cover four laps of the 44km circuit. A mixture of red dunes, loose gravel and hills challenged the riders who had to keep up their concentration and momentum throughout.

The Class 1 200cc and 250cc Bikes battle was won by Kai Hennes with Claude Brendel taking the second place and Jose Comando coming third.

In the Class 3 Open Quad class Jaco Snyman dominated to come home in first place followed by Andre Basson and Jannes Augustyn in second and third respectively.

In the Class 4 Ladies Quad class, Anneke Steenkamp took the honours to hold off Yana de Jesus and Maike Bochert in second and third places respectively.

The support bikes were won by Andre Steinfurt followed by Johan van der Merwe and Johan van Zyl in third position.

In the Support Quad class it was Dr van Vuuren who walked away with the win ahead of Riaan Louw and Edwin Reed.

In the Masters Bike class it was Sven Schneidenberger who walked away with first place, followed by Sarel Boshoff and Dirk Trümer in second and third places respectively.

Nicol van Litsenborgh won the Masters Quads class with Eugene Rossouw and Phillip van der Merwe coming second and third respectively.

Shannon Rowland won the Junior Quads class, followed by Katelynne Liebenberg and Jacques Snyman in third.

The next race leg in the Bank Windhoek NMSF Enduro Champioship series will take place on 4 September 2010 with the venue to be confirmed in due course.
