Bierbrauer wins fourth Enduro race

Bjorn Bierbrauer won the Open Class of the Bank Windhoek Namibia Motor Sport Federation (NMSF) Enduro Championships which took place at Farm Aris, south of Windhoek on Saturday.

A big turnout of 58 riders participated in the championships, the fourth in the 2010 series, which was co-sponsored by Louis van der Merwe Construction.

The riders had to cover four laps of the 40km long rounds, while a mix of sand, rocks and some steep hills challenged riders who had to keep up their concentration throughout.
As the season progressed, the fitness of the riders has increased, but some machines gave in to the harsh conditions.

Herewith the results:
In the Open Bikes (Class 2), Björn Bierbrauer performed well and came first ahead of Ingo Waldschmidt in second place and Heiko Hennes in third.

Mark Roesner won the 200 and 250 cc Bikes (Class 1) battle with class leader Kai Hennes taking the second place and Jose Comando coming third.

In the open Quad class (Class 3) Janus Augustyn dominated to come home in first place followed by Ecki Spoerer and Bart Steyl in second and third positions respectively.

In the Ladies Quad Class (Class 4) it was Yana de Jesus who finished first to hold off Maike Bochert and Anneke Steenkamp in second and third places respectively.

The Support Bikes Class was won by Björn Hohmeier followed by Johan van der Merwe and Andre Steinfurt.

In the new Masters Bike Class it was Sven Schneiden berger who finished first, followed by Luke Pennefather and Sarel Boshoff.

In the support Quad Class Pierre Cronje took the win ahead of Edwin Reed and Carsten Hohmeier.

Jandre Augustyn was victorious in the Junior Quad Class followed by Katelynne Liebenberg and Lothario van Wyk.

The next race in the Bank Windhoek NMSF Enduro Championship Series will take place on 7 August in Aranos
